If there is a simulation in progress, it is suspended as a result. .Fn ES_UnlockCircuit releases the lock on the circuit, resuming any suspended simulation. .Pp .Fn ES_AddNode allocates a new circuit node. New nodes initially contains no branches. .Fn ES_DelNode removes a node. If components are referencing the node, these references will be removed accordingly. Node 0 (ground) cannot be deleted. The .Fn ES_MergeNodes function merges .Fa node1 and .Fa node2 into a single node and returns its number. Whichever node has the highest number is deleted (node 0 cannot be deleted). .Pp .Fn ES_AddBranch creates a new branch (i.e., a reference to a Component .Ft ES_Port structure), under the given node. .Fn ES_DelBranch removes the specified branch .Pp .Fn ES_AddVoltageSource registers a new independent voltage source in the circuit and returns a numerical identifier for the source. .Fn ES_DelVoltageSource deletes the specified voltage source.
